Rename/Redirect

[edit]

Propose to redirect to Hongdu JL-15 instead of HAIG L-15 as this is the more common name.

The first L-15 is powered two engines DV-2X-01 ( HTC-AED,a.s. SLOVAK REPUBLIC ). The first rolled was in January 2006. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.160.175.164 (talk) 19:28, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given the progress of the aircraft that has been officially inducted to the PLA, I would like to propose the change of the page name into its appropriate designation; Hongdu JL-10. Aircraft that has been officially inducted to the PLA always follow a pattern of naming. For trainer aicraft, the designation is JL-xx, as you can see at the existence of other planes like JL-8 and JL-9 (which also had different name before called K-8 and FTC-2000 respectively before it's changed following the naming pattern as well). Connection to Yak-130

[edit]

I wonder whether this is a licensed model of the Yak-130 type or just very, very similar. There must be a close connection to this type. Anyone with detailed information? --Netopýr (talk) 16:47, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From the official Yokovlev Design Bureau website: (http://www.yak.ru/ENG/FIRM/art_switch.php?art=2)

According to Oleg Demchenko, the Yakovlev Design Bureau, in the last three years, under the order of China's AV1C-2 (Aviation Industry of China/Second Group), the company has provided consulting services and prepared a concept specification for the L-15 trainer, the development of which is carried out in China. This aircraft will replace the aging K-8 and will be able to compete on China's trainer market against the FTC-2000 aircraft being developed by AV1C-1.

As per O.Demchenko, the Russian company did not participate in designing and building the full-scale mockup of the L-15 aircraft, which is expected to make a demonstration flight at China Air Show-2004 in Zhuhai. The company only assisted in evaluating the concept of the supersonic operational trainer and did associated research and development work under that project. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.227.6.79 (talk) 10:47, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
